Description

The Swing handsfree is a very stable umbrella that can be easily attached to any standard backpack with hip belt and easily adjusted for maximum benefit and protection from the wind. Both hands remain free – ideal for pilgrims who dislike rain ponchos, and/or who want to continue using trekking poles while it rains. The swing handsfree umbrella is innovative for people who enjoy taking pictures on the go (in the rain) and like studying the hiking guide or map without it getting wet. The umbrella performs just as well as a rain or sun protective for infants that travel with their parents in a back carrier.

The swing handsfree can be used as a rain cover or, in the metallic version as a sunscreen. A special feature of this umbrella is its telescopic fiberglass shaft, which can be extended up to a length of about one meter, and locked with a small turning movement in any convenient height position. Depending on the wind, the swing handsfree can be positioned on the left or the right side of the backpack, using two rotatable included clips that use a nylon Velcro system to be fastened to the two main straps of the backpack. The elastic strap on the umbrella grip serves as a flexible fixation on the hip belt.

The 370g light umbrella can also be used as a regular hiking umbrella. With a diameter of 114cm it is large enough to protect the pilgrim and backpack reliably.

The material selection and its processing have been tailored to the special demands of pilgrims. The fabric consists of a particularly light and highly tear-resistant polyester mixture that has been additionally treated with Teflon. The entire umbrella frame consists of an elastic and extremely unbreakable fiberglass material.
